I just kind of feel like doing a random blog post. I miss blogging but it's very hard to do from my phone and I no longer have a computer. lol So, as soon as I get a laptop, I'll be back to blogging but only periodically. I have decided that if I blog again, I will definitely put more safeguards up, time wise. With 5 children and homeschooling, I just can't slip into endless computer time. I have to be careful with my time.
Okay, some bullet points!
* Sophie May is weighing 12 lbs. and doing great! She eats around every 4 hrs and is sleeping really well.
We had to take her to the ER on Sunday night because she spiked a high fever. Turns out, it was viral. Thank God!
* I've been watching a TON of the Duggar's. I so love their parenting style & their love for their family. My favorite statement Michelle has made is when she is talking about how if she didn't have Josie, or all of these children, how much LOVE she would have missed out on, and how she trusts God with her entire life. I literally watched it with tears streaming down my face. She also talks about how her heart changed towards children. Oh my, how I can relate. I've always loved children but I've definitely been selfish. And, in my experience, I can say that the more children I have, the more selfishness God takes out of me! Just some observations.
*We watched videos of some of the RNC convention. We loved Paul Ryan & Mitt Romney & Clint Eastwood's speeches. I'm so excited about the future of our country under this (hopefully) presidency. A presidency that understands and values family and faith above all else. Loving it!!!
*I'm rereading the book, "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan. Life changing. Believe me, you can never read it enough!!
* We are trying to cut out a lot of our red meat so we are replacing with a lot of vegetarian type meals. It's interesting and GOOD!!!
*Charlie is now self employed, most of the time. He's building cabinets!!! And, he's awesome at it so if you need anything like that, please let us know!!!!
*Claire is starting 2nd grade this year, Lily will be Kindergarten & Drew will be doing Pre-K. We are continuing to homeschool and I will be the FIRST to admit that it is the hardest thing I have ever done but it is also the most amazing wonderful thing I have ever done!!!! We have grown so much as a family and I truly LOVE having my wonderful children with me every day. Some days I need my "mama time" desperately and some days I just don't get it, but we all survive. And, we are so excited to start our new curriculum this year...we are focusing, among other things, on character & American history this year. Everything, every subject we teach will center around these two things. Science, Art, History, Math, Music, everything!!!! I soooo love unit studies! :)
*We are enjoying visiting my sister and her family this week. We are so grateful for the time we have got to spend with them lately. :) Blessed.
*Prayers are needed for my Dad and my Mom. We are unsure what all is going on with him but we need the prayers of the faithful. Thanks so very much.

Scenes from my Crazy perfect life..
I fold this much laundry every other day. Or not. Lately,it's just been overwhelming & I'm finding out that's okay. It's a season. It will pass & my couch will be clean again. My Sophie will also be older & not need mama as much. Its really true, I'm gonna miss this. :(

Our Bible study for the next month...
I have been looking for a Bible study for the kids that is quick to use when baby Sophie or Jude is born. We were at the VA hospital's gift shop (Canteen) and I found this! We already use the everyday devos for girls/boys. This will be a fun switchup & a great thing for Mama to focus on while I am adjusting to life with 5 and very little sleep!

35 weeks
Actually, I have two due dates. The earliest one puts me at 36 weeks Saturday & the second one at 35 weeks Tuesday so we are going to meet in the middle & say 35 weeks! LOL
We are dilated to a 2 but we are planning natural child birth so I may be 40+ weeks and still a 2...no induction unless absolutely necessary. :)
I am super tired & emotional. Not sleeping well & in pain. We have hit the home stretch!!
Soooo ready to meet little Sophia Catherine or Jude Levi, if it happens to be a boy!!!

My hubby, the leader of our family, has been working & driving 75-80 hours a week, lately. He is surviving on 4-5 hours of sleep at night and still manages to be a devoted husband & father. Thank you, God,I love him so much & I am Forever grateful for the blessing of being his wife & mother to our sweet children. ♥
BBQ chicken...
I Came up with this today & thought I would share...yummy!!
1 Tbsp. Canola oil
1small onion, diced
1/2 c. Apple cider vinegar
1/2 c. Root beer
1 c. Ketchup
2 Tbsp A1 Steak sauce
1/2 c. Brown sugar
1 Tbso. Cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp. Spicy brown mustard
HEAT oil in large saucepan over medium heat. ADD onion& cook 5 minutes. Stir in other ingredients & bring to boil. Reduce heat & simmer 5 minutes. Pour over whole chicken seasoned with salt,pepper,and half a stick melted butter. Cover with foil it lid & bake at 300 for 3-4 hours.

Nesting
After a few major meltdowns yesterday, Charlie & I decided that today would be an attitude adjustment sort of day, for all of us. lol
Which meant plenty of sleep, early bedtime, healthy breakfast, extra bible reading at breakfast, Mama would not be on internet at all (its 4 pm now, so I'm in the clear, they are napping), chores all done, NO TV, we would do some fun things with Mama, I decided on crockpot meal for supper to make everything easier...so far today, I have done 7 loads of laundry with girls' help, scrubbed down kitchen, reorganized & cleaned kids' rooms, swept entire house, got some of the baby's stuff ready and some work for the kids printed off & organized for when after baby Sophie (or Jude, if its a boy) arrives. Now, I just need to clean bathrooms and mop.
I went to.my midwife appt. yesterday & found I am dilated to a 2 but no other signs of active labor so we are good. Hopefully, prayerfully, this baby will be born all natural. :)
Since we went to bed at 9 last night, I got an amazing 10 hrs sleep last night. I haven't been sleeping well & I soooo needed it!!
Hopefully, tomorrow I can work some more on the cloth diaper stash, making baby some things & just more getting ready!

The newest members of the family
The kids are having a blast taking care of the babies!!! Thanks, Uncle George & Aunt Tammy!!
15 months...
Our sweet E..man will turn 15 months old Sunday! Where does the time go? He's such a precious little one and soooo easy to love. We all adore him!!
He has such helpful big sisters and such a protective big brother that he doesn't walk much, yet! He can take a few steps & one if them is there to pick him up! He's super spoiled yet sweet as he can be! :)
Just a quick update on the baby that soon won't be the baby of the family, anymore. Sophie won't make us wait too much longer!! Every day, we draw closer & closer!

beautiful day..
So many things to be grateful for today! Sitting outside with my babies reading & playing. So far today we have finished another Felecity book, our bible lesson & a couple of chapters.from Alice in Wonderland. It's been great!
Drew just said the cutest thing, Mama, Boscoe (our dog) loves to lay out here & feel the pretty wind. :) so sweet.
We are going to be doing some leaf collecting & identifying this.afternoon & maybe have a picnic outside just enjoying this beautiful day with my blessings!!

nesting..
32 weeks this weekend & nesting has hit!"! I have been going through Sophia's small pile of. clothes & getting so excited!! ♥ baby girl clothes!!
Midwife, natural childbirth, all new experiences!! I really wish we could do at home birth but not teally safe where we live. I have a feeling this is going to be great!!
Enjoying my pregnancy even though things are stressful right now. Just trusting God to work it all out. I will post updated pics soon!! phone is being wacky..lol
